A Letter from Jenny Bandsuh
Hi everyone!
My name is Jenny Bandsuh, and I have the honor of serving as the 2025 President of the Phi Sigma Rho Beta chapter here at the Ohio State University. I am from
Brecksville, Ohio, studying Materials Science Engineering. I currently have the
wonderful opportunity of leading this amazing chapter of women in engineering and STEM related fields.
Phi Sigma Rho was founded in 1984 at Purdue University, and our chapter was founded not long after in 1986. We were founded as a sorority for girls in engineering to find a community with roots in friendship, scholarship, and encouragement. Our chapter serves as a support system for all our members through whatever challenges life may bring during our college years and beyond. Our members encourage each other to achieve all their goals and be the best versions of themselves. The women of Phi Rho have a shared vision for the direction of our chapter, and we all embody our three core values in daily life. I am so proud to say that we are a group of smart, independent, creative, and courageous women, and I deeply feel the respect that we have for one another.
After my first semester at Ohio State, I was overwhelmed with engineering classes and looking for an opportunity to meet more girls in similar majors. After hearing about Phi Rho, I decided to go to their info night to see if this was something I would be interested in. Ever since I stepped into the room, I felt so welcomed and at home with all their members and I haven’t looked back since. I knew that this was the community I had been longing for. Phi Rho has been the best part of my college experience. I have met some of my best friends and grown tremendously as a person. I cannot be more grateful for the experiences that Phi Rho has given me and the life lessons I have learned.
I hope you can get the best experience possible out of PHA, and Ohio State’s Greek Life community. Thank you all so much for taking the time to learn about our chapter, Phi Rho is excited to meet everyone during recruitment and wishes the best of luck to all PNM’s.
PRL,
Jenny Bandsuh
Phi Sigma Rho President
