A Letter from Rayna Handis

Welcome to Tri Delta!
My name is Rayna Handis, and I am honored to serve as the Collegiate Chapter President of the Nu Chapter of Delta Delta Delta here at The Ohio State University. I am incredibly proud to lead such an amazing chapter of strong women, and I am excited to share what makes our chapter so special.
As you go through Primary Recruitment, I encourage you to live by one of my favorite Tri Delta mottos: "We do not want you to come to Tri Delta and be like us, we want you to come to Tri Delta and be like you." When I entered this process, I was open to new possibilities, but the moment I first walked into 229 E 15th, I knew there was nowhere else I belonged. Throughout this journey of choosing a forever home, I encourage you to stay true to yourself—this will lead you to where you are meant to be.
Since joining Tri Delta, I have made lifelong friends, grown tremendously as a person, and discovered who I aspire to be. I want the same for each of you, no matter where your path takes you.
Being a part of this chapter is an experience unlike any other. Tri Delta was founded in 1888 when Sarah Ida Shaw and Eleanor Dorcas Pond saw a need for a different organization that would "be kind alike to all and think more of the girl's inner self and character than of her personal appearance." Over a century later, these values remain at our core. We welcome over 250 members from diverse backgrounds, each with unique academic interests, career aspirations, and passions outside the classroom. With emerging leaders in all aspects of campus life, Tri Delta is proud of our members who dedicate countless hours to the Columbus community while helping each other reach their fullest potential.
When I went through recruitment, one of the biggest things that drew me to Tri Delta was hearing active members speak so passionately about St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. I was impressed to learn we were the top fundraising sorority on campus. This past year, I had the honor of serving as our Director of Philanthropy, where I experienced firsthand how far our efforts go, meeting families directly impacted by our advocacy. Philanthropy has become a pillar of our organization, and I could not be prouder to be a part of it.
Throughout your recruitment journey, remember that this process is about finding where you truly belong. I can confidently say that I found mine at 229!
On behalf of the women of Delta Delta Delta, we are so excited to meet you! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Delta Love and All of Mine,
Rayna Handis
