My name is Cailey Hansen-Mahoney and I have had the honor to serve as the Chapter President of the Beta Xi Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta. I am so glad you have visited our page to learn a bit more about our chapter. I can’t wait to meet you in person, and I hope you are all excited too!
As a third year here at OSU, I have begun to reflect on my meaningful experiences on campus. The memories that stick out are those spent with my sisters by my side. From my first Girls on the Run 5k to getting to have in person initiation again, I am so grateful that freshman year I took the risk of entering formal recruitment. Nervous and very very cold, I found my warm and welcoming home in the walls of 43 East 15th Avenue. I found kind, funny, empathetic, and unique women at Gamma Phi Beta who have accelerated my growth immensely. I cannot imagine my college experience without the women of Beta Xi and the entire greek community. Gamma Phi Beta and the women I am lucky to call sisters have shaped me into the person I am today.
Gamma Phi Beta has allowed me to be more connected to campus and the Columbus area. Getting involved is much more fun with sisters like volunteering at the Columbus Food Bank or fundraising for GOTR on the Wex Plaza. I had never been to a Bluejackets game or the Franklin conservatory until I joined Gamma Phi Beta. The opportunity to grow as a leader has been best of all.
The feeling of running to your new home with the people you will soon call friends and sisters is a feeling like no other. The possibilities for relationships and personal growth are endless in this beautiful community. I have been so lucky to be surrounded by a community of strong women that has helped me to grow as a person.
Thanks so much for visiting our page and I hope you get a little preview of what our chapter is all about. We can’t wait to get to know you soon!
Love, Cailey Hansen-Mahoney <3
