PHILANTHROPY
About Our Philanthropy
Zeta Tau Alpha's philanthropy is Breast Cancer Education and Awareness. One in eight women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime, so the cause is personal for everyone. Zeta Tau Alpha members are dedicated to our philanthropy and raising money for the cause. The Breast Cancer pink ribbon represents hope, strength, and perseverance in the fight against breast cancer which is why it is the biggest symbol of ZTA's philanthropy. Every fall, our chapter passes out thousands of ribbons to Ohio State fans before a game to raise awareness and bring hope. Our chapter holds a few events throughout the year to support our philanthropy. We hold a few events during Think Pink Week in the month of October to raise money for our cause and awareness during Breast Cancer Awareness month. During the spring semester, we hold our annual Big Buckeye On Campus competition. It is a comedic male beauty pageant. Last year we raised over $30,000 toward our philanthropy from this event. Without the help of our women and their devotion to our philanthropy, we would not have been able to positively affect so many lives through our events. By spreading the message of Breast Cancer Education and Awareness, our sisters hope to make a difference in the lives of others and hopefully, one day, see an end to breast cancer.
