The Alpha Lambda chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta contributes to the world's work by hosting and participating in many events focused on the main goal of fighting hunger. We partner with local Meals on Wheels and Feeding America organizations to give back to our Columbus community.

 

This past school year, we were able to donate over $8,000 to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation which provides grants to Meals on Wheels, Feeding America and local organizations and provides scholarships, SIS grants, and aid to disaster relief. Collegiate chapters gain membership in the Jewel Society when they raise $2,000 or more for the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation annually (June 1-May 31). Here at Alpha Lambda, we are a proud member of the Jewel Society! The Alpha Lambda chapter primarily volunteers at the local Columbus food pantry, Mid-Ohio Food Bank. Last spring, the Mid-Ohio Food Bank received a grant from the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation for $4,500 to help distribute more fresh food to the community.

 

Our largest event of the year is our semi-annual Nighttime Nachos, which Alpha Gam has become known for here at Ohio State. Each semester, our sisters work for 12 hours, from 2 PM-2AM, and sell nachos outside our home to donate all proceeds.
