The second week of Primary Recruitment is from January 21-23. Sisterhood Round is Saturday, Preference Round is Sunday, and Bid Day is Monday.

What is the Primary Recruitment schedule?

Potential New Member Orientation

Date and Time: Wednesday, 1/11, from 7:30 to 8:00 pm.

Mode: In-Person at the Ohio Union in the Archie Griffin Ballroom.

PNM Orientation will give PNMs the opportunity to meet their Rho Gams, as well as other people in their recruitment group. A brief overview of Primary Recruitment will be shown, and PNMs can ask questions and be notified of recruitment policies.

Meet the Chapters Round (18 Chapters)

Date and Time: Friday, 1/13, from 6:00-11:00 pm, Saturday, 1/14, from 9:30 am-7:15 pm.

Mode: Zoom

Meet the Chapters Round will take place in two parts. First, you will watch each chapter’s introduction video with your recruitment group. Then, you will speak to active members over zoom. You will get to meet every chapter and hear a little about what makes them special. This is a chance to ask about the time commitment, cost of membership, and what they like about their chapter! Each party will be 30 minutes, with a 15-minute break in between each party. On the 14th, there is a collective break from 12:15 pm to 1:30 pm, allowing for a lunch break.

Philanthropy Round (12 Chapters Maximum)

Date and Time: Sunday, 1/15, from 10:30 am- 9:45 pm

Mode: Ohio Union/Chapter Facilities

Philanthropy Round will introduce you to each chapter’s philanthropic focus and what they do to support their philanthropic partner(s). Be prepared to talk about why philanthropy and service are important to you. Each party will be 30 minute. There is also a collective break from 2:45 pm to 4:00 pm. The suggested attire for this round is snappy casual; think brunch with friends (i.e., a cute top and nice jeans or pants). If you want to dress differently, all power to you! This process is about being your most authentic self.

Sisterhood Round (7 Chapters Maximum)

Date and Time: Saturday, 1/21, from 9:00 am-7:45 pm

Mode: Ohio Union/Chapter Facilities

Sisterhood Round will introduce you to each chapter’s sisterhood and their favorite parts of membership. Conversations often get deeper this round, so don’t be surprised! Each party will be 45 minutes with a large break from 1:45 pm until 3:00 pm. The suggested attire for this round is business casual (i.e. a nice top and skirt or pants). Again, feel free to dress in what you are most comfortable with and uniquely express who you are! A good rule of thumb is that your outfits should get a bit “fancier” for each round but should not require any additional purchasing of outfit pieces for this process alone.

Preference Round (2 Chapters Maximum)

Date and Time: Sunday, 1/22, from 11:00 am-6:15 pm

Mode: Ohio Union/Chapter Facilities

Preference Round will allow you to participate in a ritual ceremony and speak more deeply with active members about their chapter experience. Conversations will likely be very personal, and dig deeper into what it means to make a lifetime sorority commitment. After all, you are talking to people who may become your sisters/siblings! Each party will be 60 minutes. The suggested attire for this round is business professional (i.e. a dress or suit). Dress differently if you would like! This is your final opportunity to connect with the chapters, so ask any lingering questions and wear what feels true to you!

Bid Day (1 Chapter)

Date and Time: Monday, 1/23, at 7:00 pm.

Mode: Ohio Union

Bid Day will allow you to celebrate with your new chapter! After you open your bid card, you will head home with fellow new members and Recruitment Guides in your chapter. The suggested attire for this round is casual and comfortable (i.e., leggings or jeans). Keep in mind that you will likely get a shirt or sweatshirt when you arrive at your chapter facility!
